REF: Charity Week – 7th to 11th July 2025
We are pleased to announce that the School Council have arranged a Charity Week from Monday 7th to Friday 11th July 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to come together, have fun, and raise money for some important causes that matter to them. Throughout the week, there will be a wide range of exciting activities taking place during lunchtimes, including competitions, quizzes, and various challenges. The week will culminate in a non-uniform day on Friday 11th July, where students are encouraged to wear their own clothes and try to match the colours of one of the chosen charities.
There will also be a raffle with a wide range of prizes. So far we have had donations of tickets for local football teams, vouchers for meals at local restaurants, 3 months membership at a squash club (worth £90) and much more. If you know of anyone that would be able to donate a prize for the raffle, please do get in contact with Mr Westby through the school council email address (schoolcouncil@bordengrammar.kent.sch.uk). Token System- must be purchased this week.
All events during Charity Week will be accessed using a token system, with each token costing £1. Tokens will be available to purchase via Scopay between Monday 23rd and Tuesday 1st July only. Please note that we are now a cashless school, and we will not be able to accept money for tokens in person. It is therefore essential that students consider in advance which events they would like to take part in, and ensure that the correct number of tokens are purchased before the deadline. If you have any issues with access to Scopay please email finance@bordengrammar.kent.sch.uk
Students will receive their tokens in a named envelope on the morning of Monday 7th July.
The school council, in collaboration with their form groups, have thoughtfully selected three charities to support this year:
● Cancer Research UK – a leading charity dedicated to researching cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, working towards a world where cancer no longer threatens lives. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/
● Refugee Action – an organisation supporting refugees and asylum seekers as they rebuild their lives in the UK, offering practical help and campaigning for fairer treatment. https://www.refugee-action.org.uk/
