Christmas Newsletter 2025

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parent or Guardian

In my final whole school assembly for 2025 I wanted to finish on a positive note, which meant largely avoiding the news in 2025 and instead focusing on the many achievements we've witnessed at Borden over the course of the year. In terms of buildings, we've seen the return of our main field, we have fully renovated toilets, and we’ve seen the whole school's major electrical work completed; replacement of fire doors are mostly complete but are still ongoing. The most rewarding improvement has been the completion of our state of the art auditorium, giving our students a truly professional experience during their drama lessons and a venue for big events. All of this was the fortunate result of bids, negotiations and money saved in the construction of our new build. We are now in the process of trying to renovate our 1928 hall, creating more space for locating students at social times, particularly in poor weather. However, with costs outstripping funding every year, we will need to do some in house fundraising for a replacement of the Muga surface over the next few years which is deteriorating and forecast to cost over £65 000 for which we get no funding. More on fund raising for this next year!...

We’ve also seen our students achieve some truly amazing things this year. Our year 11s and 13s produced some of our best ever results in the summer, with many moving on to go to top national universities or apprenticeships. Year 10s and 12s have been on meaningful work experience, whilst our careers event in September was very well attended, being both motivational and informative (please read more on this below). The fact that a large number of the companies who attended included our ex students, themselves returning to offer guidance, says a great deal about the culture at Borden.

School Council and houses: Our revitalised school council, supported by form representatives, have been helping to plan for our launch of our new house system to take place next term. All students are now members of one of the forms: Barrow, Pemberton, Swale, Remembrance or Hardy. We are hoping this will provide a perfect vehicle for ‘house points’ in Arbor and the rewards and recognition developments we have been developing over the last few years. The Friday morning breakfast (funded by the Old Bordenians), resilience awards, termly bowling trips, non uniform rewards, certificates, celebration assemblies and prize giving - all of these have helped recognise the good things our students regularly do - but we want more.

The Arts: Apart from the introduction of our new auditorium, the arts have seen numerous exciting things taking place this year, including the Summer Showcase, Borden Drama Society meetings, the school orchestra, a new singing group, Jam band for rock musicians, 7 different instrumental tutors in school each week for lessons and we have a new arts ‘tech club’ starting in January. The Christmas show was ‘sold out’ and was an amazing array of music and drama performances, the highlight for me being some of our drama students caricaturing their performing arts teachers - this ranks as one of the funniest things I have seen all year. We also have our whole school musical coming up this summer - watch this space! This is aside from the Royal Opera House trip, London Philharmonic Orchestra Trip and musical trip, all showing the arts are alive and well at Borden!

Sports, clubs and outward bound activities: What a year of sporting events too….our inter Borden hockey fixtures, success at Swale schools rugby, Y7/8 Kent Dodgeball Championships, taking part in the Swale athletics and basketball tournaments, too many football fixtures to count with students making it through to the Kent quarter finals, mixed year group hard ball cricket fixtures and incredibly successful representation at the Kent Swimming Championships and the Kent school cross country/schools athletics championships. This is on top of a whole school sports day, the huge number of students taking part yearly in all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh award, the year 8 OAA trip to Lower Grange Farm Scouts Centre and the introduction of a year 8 sports leadership program where our students went out to support local primary school events. On top of the usual clubs that run at least every 3 days of the week, we have also had the introduction of the golf club and a highly attended badminton club over 2 days. I realise that from the parent survey, some are simply not aware of the expanded range of things on offer and we are trying to get better at advertising these things - but please do ask if you want to know more!

Wellbeing: Overall, it's the ‘other stuff’ that makes our community so special. We have piloted a project with Kent Police on “violence against women and girls” with a range of students from different year groups creating presentations delivered to every year group in the school. As well as senior police officers, this was supported by the Swale Mayor and the head of the local council, who spoke wonderfully about the importance of us becoming the first ‘white ribbon’ school and the role our students played in creating something that will be rolled out at other schools. We even had a visit last week from the ‘High Sheriff of Kent', who expressed a personal interest in this student-led project, with the intent of supporting a nomination for a national award. These students have been out this week in Sittingbourne trying to persuade businesses to provide ‘safe spaces’ in the town centre. Meanwhile, our yearly mental health first-aiders, peer mentors, anti-bullying ambassadors, year 9 prefects, primary school ambassadors and the 6th form team who organised our charity week all continue to show Borden at its very best.

I finished this week with a number of 6th formers, boxing up and taking a record donation from all of you to the Sittingbourne foodbank. I wish I could pass on the heartwarming feeling of handing this over to the foodbank who were blown away by your generosity. They specifically asked that I write to you and pass on their genuine thanks and to tell you that it will be put to good use.

Hopefully, this message has given a brief overview of the array of amazing things taking place at Borden across the year and I would like to thank all of the staff for their commitment, the students for taking part and you as parents for helping to make this year such a success. At heart, all of this is testament to the fact that our students continue to represent our Borden values of kindness, respect and courage. I hope that you enjoy the rest of this newsletter and see more examples of these positive qualities that I see every week. Have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to our students returning in January 2026 to make us even more proud!

Careers News

As the festive season approaches and term 2 draws to a close, I wanted to share an update on the range of career-related activities our students have engaged in over the past few months. It has been a term filled with inspiration, exploration, and invaluable real-world connections, designed to help the students consider their future paths.

Key Highlights from a Busy Term:

  • Whole-School access to Unifrog: We are delighted to announce that every student across the school now has access to Unifrog, our comprehensive destinations platform. We strongly encourage all students to regularly log in and use the quizzes and search tools to guide their choices, and we urge parents to create their own accounts to explore the platform alongside their sons and daughters (details of which have been shared already).

  • Inspiring assembly for Year 9: We were privileged to host an assembly for Year 9 delivered by Jackson, a leading company in Civil Engineering, who you may recognise from their work on the Key Street Roundabout and Grovehurst Road improvements. This session provided a fascinating and practical insight into the world of infrastructure and construction, helping our younger students connect their current subject choices to future professional pathways and the varied opportunities within the industry.

  • Work Experience success for Year 10: A particularly exciting development has been the proactive engagement of our Year 10 students in securing work experience placements for May 2026. We are delighted that 125 out of 145 boys have already successfully secured placements for next year across a variety of sectors, including Sport, Finance, Construction, Retail, Education, Veterinary, and many more! We commend these boys (and their families) for the hard work and dedication that has gone on behind the scenes to secure these placements.

  • We also want to give a special mention to our dedicated group of Year 8 Student Receptionists from 8B, who have been our pilot form and helped us successfully trial and evaluate the programme. The boys have been absolutely wonderful this term, taking on genuine responsibility and displaying impressive professional skills. Their duties have included warmly greeting visitors, efficiently delivering messages across the school, and accurately updating some of our internal documentation. This early experience in communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement is invaluable for their future careers.

Your Careers Toolkit: Get involved with our Padlets!
We are committed to making careers information as engaging and accessible as possible. Our Careers Padlets are designed in-house to reflect the varied needs and interests of our students and their families so that reliable and up-to-date information, links, opportunities and resources are available with just a few clicks.

We strongly encourage both students and parents to explore the Padlets—they are a fantastic way to stay updated on all things careers, helping bridge the gap between school guidance and home discussion.

New this term is the section entitled ‘New this term’, as well as a dedicated section to SEND support for Careers.

A message of thanks
Finally, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many parents, carers, alumni, and external speakers who generously gave their time and expertise this term. Your input is vital in making the careers programme so successful and in helping the students see the practical application of their academic studies. With this in mind, if you would like to support our careers offer, then please do get in touch kcameron@bordengrammar.kent.sch.uk

Thanks also to Mrs Risbridger, who leaves us at the end of term. She has been a fantastic careers assistant, not only with the behind-the-scenes administration, but liaising with employers and universities, as well as supporting our student receptionists and sharing her wealth of experience and expertise with them. She will be very missed.

We look forward to an equally busy and rewarding spring term, with many more opportunities planned to inspire and guide our students.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year!

Governors and Members

As a single academy trust, we are always looking for people who would be interested in playing a role in the running of the school. So what are these roles? A trustee acts as a ‘critical friend’ of the school, attending approximately seven meetings a year and visiting the school at least once to support an area of interest or specialism. We are particularly keen on finding someone with business, financial or legal expertise, although not absolutely necessary. Members are the board that sit 'above' trustees and have oversight of school governance and the accounts. They meet at an AGM only once a year and have a much lighter touch in terms of school oversight. If you are interested in becoming either a trustee or member, then please contact the school for more information.

Some words from our Heads of Years

Year 7

We are finally at the end of an extremely busy but rewarding term. Year 7 have now completed their first two terms of secondary school, and we have accomplished a lot as a year group. We trained our next cohort of Antibullying Ambassadors – with Oscar C and Henry SL joining the school's team. We completed our Audit Predictions and Reflections, as well as celebrating those students with audits in the top 10 for achievement and/or attitude to learning grades. We also spent the last seven weeks working hard preparing for our Winter Fair. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that supported the Year 7 Charity Winter Fair, from our Year 10 form prefects who spent every Thursday supporting/organising their groups, to my fabulous Form Tutor Team working tirelessly to ensure that all 147 students knew what they were doing and were prepared, to our parents and guardians helping behind the scenes to buy sweets and put together stalls.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank anyone that visited the winter fair and those that spent tokens, helping us raise money for our chosen charities:
Thanks to everyone's hard work, we managed to raise a record £1710! (wow) – I can't wait to do this all again next year...could we reach £2000? This money will be going to the following charities: Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Care, MenTalk Sittingbourne, Demelza Hospice, Swale Foodbank and Violence Against Women And Girls (VAWG) Charities.

Wishing you all a lovely and well deserved break!

Miss Irinoye
Head of Year 7

Year 8

This term has seen Year 8 settling confidently into their routines and lessons.  Students are arriving punctually, smartly dressed and engaging with the pastoral curriculum, which this term has focused on our Borden Value of Respect.  As Head of Year, I have been proud to hear that Year 8 behaviour around the school, especially at break and lunchtime, is exemplary.  Staff and students delivering assemblies to the year group have also praised their excellent behaviour and engagement with the topics.

As the term draws to a close, we look forward to seeing whether 8S maintain their dominance of the inter-form competition and are rewarded with a non-uniform day on the final day of term.  The Winter Fair, Christmas jumper day and the Christmas lunch top off the festivities for the term.

A few practical matters for our return in January - please ensure students' possessions, especially coats and PE kits, are named, for ease of reuniting lost property with owners.  Should you need to get in contact with me regarding your son, please contact me on aedwards@bordengrammar.kent.sch.uk in the first instance, as my teaching timetable reduces my availability during the day.

Wishing everyone a restful and healthy holiday.

Mrs. Edwards
Head of Year 8

Year 9

As we approach Christmas, you will, no doubt, be aware that we are moving quickly towards more discussion of GCSE choices, options exams and all the preparation that comes with them. The year 9 internal exams begin on Monday 19th January and end on the 29th January. Teachers will be preparing students for these exams, and we will be completing revision skills in form times. The exam timetable has been posted on classroom for your perusal.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Mr Holley
Head of Year 9

Sixth Form

Terms one and two have been a hive of activity for sixth form, who have truly encapsulated the spirit of the Borden Values.

Year 11

Year 11 have had a very busy start to the year, with curriculum learning continuing alongside mock exams, followed by reflection and improvement work based on their results. We are now looking ahead to the February mocks and the exams beyond. During this time, students have also begun to consider their post-16 options, logging into Kent Choices and attending the recent parents’ evening.

Looking ahead, we will be holding an information evening at the start of the year (details have been shared in a separate letter), and exam preparation will really step up as students begin creating weekly revision timetables. Alongside their hard work, the year group has also enjoyed a range of trips and careers events.

We are extremely proud of their efforts so far and look forward to supporting them through the next phase of Year 11 in the new year.

Mr Weller
Head of Year 11

Year 12

Terms 1 and 2 have been a busy time for our Year 12 students, but I am so proud of the transition they have made and the hard work and dedication they have already shown in their studies. More impressively is the amount of commitment they have shown in their dedication and commitment to helping others in the school. Our Year 12 students have been fantastic role models in embodying the Borden Values throughout their new life in the Sixth Form, from participating in mentoring programmes to helping at Open Evenings.

Throughout Term 2, 44 students have been trained as both peer mentors and Mental Health First Aid Champions. All students had to participate in two days of training for both mentoring programmes in which they are now qualified in working with our students in years 7-11 who may need further support. MHFA Champions have also been in their allocated tutor groups to deliver tutor sessions as well as working with students weekly during their tutor periods. The maturity, dedication and commitment displayed by the students has been appreciated, and we look forward to them working and supporting our students during this academic year. Below is a picture of our current MHFA Champions.

Students from across Year 12 also delivered a number of assemblies for year groups 7-11 about Men’s Health Awareness Month and Movember in which they spoke about subjects such as testicular cancer and men’s mental health. These were well received by students and highlighted two important issues.

Students in both Year 12 and 13 also had an assembly from the Anthony Nolan Trust who came in to educate our students about the importance of the work they do in regard to stem cell research and the Anthony Nolan Trust register. Following this, 26 of our students participated in swab testing, meaning they could be placed on the national register. We hope to build our links with the Anthony Nolan Trust next year and ensure more students in the Sixth Form are educated about the important medical research of this charity.

Year 12 students have also been informed about their Work Shadowing week, which will take place from 6-10 July 2026. Mr Brinn delivered an assembly and all students have access to the process they need to complete and follow in the Year 12 Google Classroom. All students are encouraged to find their own placements, and there have been several students who have already secured successful placements. We encourage all students to have found placements by the end of next term.

Finally, the Year 12 rewards assembly was a wonderful way to celebrate the successes of the year group through both their extra curricular and academic achievements. I am so proud to be their Head of Year and of their positive work ethic and their attitude to their learning.

Have a wonderful break and I look forward to welcoming Year 12 in the new year.

Ms Wrighton
Head of Year 12

Year 13
Over the course of term 1, the year 13 student leadership team delivered their introductory assembly to students in the lower years. This was supplemented by the re-introduction of the school debating club which encourages interaction and collaboration across all year groups. This is an ongoing testament to the community spirit that pervades Borden Grammar school and serves to reaffirm the importance of community, kindness and inter-collaboration throughout the school.

In addition to this, the student leadership’s Black History Month assemblies delivered to the lower year groups celebrated the key themes of diversity and multiculturalism; core beliefs which underscore the ethos of Borden Grammar School. The 2025 theme ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’ recognises the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress within Black communities globally. It highlights both the power and influence of Black leaders and visionaries who have created change, as well as the importance of cultural identity and pride.

Our commitment to the celebration of diversity and our desire to promote a harmonious school community was further demonstrated through Mr Lindo’s ‘Show racism the red card’ assemblies to all year groups, demonstrating how, as a school, we actively promote the fundamental British values alongside the protected characteristics to forge leaders of the future.

Over the course of term 2, our year 13 students have focused on revision in preparation for their upcoming mocks in January. In preparation for this, they have created revision timetables and identified various revision strategies that will help them prepare for these important exams.

To support students with their UCAS applications, Mr Coutinho from Reading University visited Borden on the 6th and 7th November to provide bespoke help, support and feedback to our year 13 students on their personal statements. This was a truly invaluable experience, allowing students to hone key skills and helping our sixth formers to prepare for life after Borden.

In addition to this, UCAS applications are being made at a rapid pace, with some students receiving conditional / contextual offers already.  Oxford and Cambridge applications have been submitted and students are now anxiously awaiting their interview dates. We wish them all the very best in this process!

Lastly, the year 13 celebration assembly was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the successes of individual students. I am endlessly proud of their drive, dedication, motivation and active application of the school’s values and I look forward to celebrating all that term 3 has to offer.

Have a wonderful break and we look forward to welcoming year 13 back in January.

School Captain report

Throughout the start of our final year here at Borden, we, as the student leadership team, have had the vision to leave a legacy behind and to be an inspiration to the rest of the Borden community. This started with Prizegivings for our beloved former year 13s and the ambitious former year 11s, many of whom are already taking on roles of responsibility within sixth form and look set to be an exciting future leadership team. These first two terms only got better with our Year 5 and Year 11 open evenings, in which the whole school, from Year 7 to Year 13, was involved in some manner. These events went smoothly and highlighted the sense of togetherness within the Borden community and the adoration and care we hold for this school. A very exciting development is our planning of a year 13 end-of-year party, in which we hope a night can be organised where memories can be reflected on one more time. This year has been like no other in my 7 years as a Borden Grammar Student. It feels like a chapter has been opened, especially this year. A chapter of drive, a chapter of compassion and a chapter of success. I do not doubt that this energy will flow into 2026 and that this is only the beginning of greater things to come for this school. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Best wishes

Fola Adeyini
School Captain

Music Department

Year 8 students have been busy getting creative in Music, designing and building their own homemade instruments for our rhythm and texture project. The results have been incredible! I have been so impressed by the creativity, effort, and care that has gone into these instruments, they should be very proud of what they’ve created. We’ll be using these instruments throughout Term 3 as students experiment, compose, and bring their own musical ideas together in groups.

House System Update

We are really excited to be launching the new House System in January. Students will have assemblies with their house in the first few weeks back where they will receive the first update on house points, hear about upcoming events and much more!

We're pleased to announce that the following staff are going to be the Heads of Houses:

Mr Parrot- Pemberton

Miss Payne- Swale

Mrs Cameron- Barrow

Mr Engel- Remembrance

Miss Pickett- Hardy

Christmas Showcase

On Tuesday 16th December, over 40 students took part in the Performing Arts Christmas Showcase, comprising of multiple performances across a range of disciplines. We kicked off the night with our Friday Jam band, followed by sketches devised, scripted and performed by the Drama Society. We had everything from an AI generated Christmas, to elves in Santa’s workshop; masked performances with our selection of professional Trestle masks, to a budget Scrooge. And who could forget the students impersonating the teachers as they desperately try to come up with a concept for the Christmas Showcase. The orchestra were in fine form playing some Christmas classics, including a beautiful version of ‘Somewhere In My Memory’ from Home Alone. The evening was concluded with The Friday Jam band again, providing the rock soundtrack to a group singalong to Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody, where the cast and audience joined together to usher in the festive season.
HUGE congratulations to everyone involved. It was a magical evening and the perfect way to prepare for the holidays!

The Performing Arts Team

School Council – A Busy and Productive Term

The School Council has had a busy and purposeful term, working hard to represent student voices across a wide range of topics. This term, we have discussed mental health and wellbeing, contributed to the ongoing planning for the new House system launching in January, and explored ways to further improve environmental sustainability within the school. Councillors have also shared and addressed general concerns raised by students.

As a result of these discussions, we are pleased to share that the new House system will include a variety of leadership opportunities for students, as well as a wide range of events throughout the year to encourage participation and community spirit. In addition, conversations are continuing about revitalising the wellbeing garden, ensuring it becomes a calm and welcoming space for everyone.

We look forward to building on this progress next term and continuing to make positive changes on behalf of all students.

Mr Westby
Assistant Headteacher

Sports clubs next term

Rewards Breakfast – Another Brilliant Term of Celebration

It has been another brilliant term for our Rewards Breakfast, with over 320 student nominations recognising hard work, kindness, resilience and outstanding achievement across the school. Each week, students have come together to enjoy breakfast while celebrating the positive contributions they make to our community.

We are incredibly grateful to the Old Bordenian Association, who have once  again generously funded the Rewards Breakfast throughout this year. Their continued support allows us to recognise and celebrate the ongoing successes of our students on a weekly basis, and it remains a much-valued tradition within our school.

We look forward to even more achievements and nominations next term!

Mr Westby
Assistant Headteacher

English Rewards trip: Christmas Karma

On the 12th December, Mrs Birkin and Ms Das accompanied 27 students from years 7-11 to the Light Cinema in Sittingbourne to watch a re-imagining of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol.' These students were selected for their embodiment of the Borden values alongside the exceptional progress they've made over the course of term 2. The film truly encapsulated the spirit of the season and we're now all ready for Christmas!

Student Receptionists

If you've visited the school in the past few weeks, you will likely have been greeted by our new receptionists, not just Mrs Daw who joined us this term, but also some of our Year 8 students who are part of a pilot group gaining work experience with our support staff.

Our intention is that this new opportunity within the school will give the students some valuable work experience, help them to develop their confidence and social skills, as well as give them another opportunity to represent the school.

8B were chosen as our 'pilot form' who will help us to evaluate the programme and its impact, and if successful it will be rolled out to all Year 8 students in the New Year and beyond.

Mrs Cameron
Head of Personal Development and Careers

Peer mentor training

This term, 21 of our fantastic Year 12 students put themselves forward to spend time across two days training to become the new cohort of Peer Mentors. Trained peer mentors will now work with Mrs Brooker, the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Mental Health Lead, and Miss Summers, LSA, for a year. Their role is to support younger students across the school with issues that require a listening ear and experience that comes from being an older student. The two training days were a fabulous opportunity to get to know each other and to develop new skills – and the Yr 12s enjoyed hearing just how valuable peer mentors are to the school community from those that are 'retiring' to make way for the new cohort.

Peer Mentors are one part of the wellbeing package offered at Borden; we also have the Emotional Wellbeing Team from NELFT on site every Friday, and Kent Counselling for Schools will join us in January for one day a week as well. Pastoral staff can offer wellbeing check-ins, we have trained Mental Health First Aiders in Year 12 and other interventions such as a therapy dog, resilience sessions, anger management, emotional regulation and more. All students are also able to access support through using the wellbeing@bordengrammar.kent.sch.uk email address which is monitored by Mrs Brooker, Mrs Zarzycki and our LSAs.

Mrs Brooker
Designated Safeguarding Lead

Religious Studies Department

As we reach the end of a long and busy Term 2, I wanted to take a moment to share what has been happening in the Religious Studies Department. It has been a term of deep questioning, lively debate, and impressive academic focus across all year groups. Here is a brief overview of what our students have been exploring:

Year 7: Philosophy and Promises
Our newest students have made a fantastic start to secondary school RS. We began with an Introduction to Philosophy, using the film The Truman Show as a stimulus. This allowed students to grapple with significant philosophical themes, such as the difference between reality and illusion, Plato's Cave, the nature of truth and free will. We then moved into a study of Judaism, exploring the patriarchs Abraham, Joseph, and Moses. We have looked at the festival of Passover and, most importantly, the concept that sits at the very heart of the Jewish faith: the Covenant (the promise between God and humanity).

Year 8: The Nature of the Divine
Year 8 has been focused on Christianity, specifically digging deeper into the theology regarding the Nature of God. Students have investigated complex concepts such as omnipotence (all-powerful), omniscience (all-knowing), and benevolence (all-loving). We also explored the importance of the Bible and analysed the film Risen. This provided a fascinating lens through which to view the Resurrection, encouraging students to look at the claims of the Easter story through the eyes of a Roman sceptic.

Year 9: History, Faith, and Future Pathways
This has been a pivotal term for Year 9 as we explored the module 'The Jesus of History, the Christ of Faith.' We have been weighing historical evidence alongside religious belief, examining artifacts such as the Turin Shroud and studying early Church history, including the impact of Emperor Constantine. Looking Ahead: As students consider their GCSE options next term, please note that Religious Studies is a highly respected academic qualification. It develops critical thinking, empathy, and analytical skills essential for careers in a wide variety of fields. Students who have gained a qualification in Religious Studies at Borden Grammar School have gone into careers as diverse as Medicine, Law, Journalism, Police Force and Teaching.

Year 10: GCSE Course Launch
Our Year 10s have made a very positive start to their GCSE course (AQA). We have begun our in-depth study of the beliefs, teachings, and practices of Christianity and Islam. The engagement level has been high, and they are laying a solid foundation for the next two years.

Year 11: Mocks and Moral Issues
I am pleased to report that Year 11s worked positively in their mocks —well done to the students for their hard work.
Next Steps: It is now critical that students consolidate their knowledge of Christianity and Islam beliefs. Additionally, for the "Thematic Studies" (Moral Issues) paper, it is vital that students keep up to date with current news events. Being able to link religious teachings to real-world headlines is the key to achieving the top grades.

Thank you for your continued support of the department. We wish you all a restful break. Whether you are celebrating Christmas, enjoying other traditions, or simply looking forward to time with family, we wish you a peaceful and happy holiday season.

Mr Sherwood-Farnfield
Religious Studies teacher

Lost Property

Looking after your property.  In our experience, students are not always good at looking after their property. We do all we can to remind them, and encourage them to be careful, and we help countless students to find their possessions. Usually, lost property is restored to the grateful owner. However, please follow the advice below.

Have all your child’s possessions clearly named

This is especially important for all items of school uniform including PE uniform. You should also make sure that you find a way of naming bags, calculators, purses, pencil cases, and water bottles too.

Students must keep money on their person

Students should keep any money in their blazer pocket or in a purse that they should keep in a safe place at all times. Large sums of money should not be brought into school.

Students should not bring any valuables into school

Students should not bring jewellery, games systems etc into school. Do not buy expensive pens, watches, or water bottles for use in school.  The school cannot accept responsibility for the loss of valuables.
