Race at Your Place 6 July

This year some of the staff are organising a “Race At Your Place” in aid of Cancer Research.  The theme this year is “Cancer we’re coming to get you” and we would like to give the charity as much support as we can.  We have invited staff, pupils, relatives and friends to join us and numbers are growing every day.  We have enlisted under the team name “Borden Blazers” and are aiming to raise £500.  We have suggested an entrance fee of £10 for adults and £5 for children – the whole amount will go to the charity (no admin fee).  We are starting small with 5km and will be walking, running, skipping, dancing, etc (whatever we feel like) and we would like to invite you to come along and take part. You could either tackle the course with us or help out with marshalling, or show your support and cheer us all on, or you could sponsor us or simply make a donation  .  To assist in the raising/collection of sponsorship monies we have set up a Justgiving website, the address of which is http://raceforlifesponsorme.org/BordenBlazers.

We would like to thank you in advance for all your support.

Andrew Foster donates hair

Andrew Foster in 12LW is having his hair cut for Cancer Research on the 18th May. He wants to help others because his Grandma died from
leukemia. The hair is going to the Little Princess Trust to be made into real-hair wigs for boys and girls who have sadly lost
their own hair through cancer treatment and the money raised is going to Cancer Research to try and find a cure.
Andrew got his inspiration from the guitarist and singer Matt Heafy from the band Trivium who also cut off his hair for charity.
Andrew said "People think that all metal heads are killers or drug abusers or just have a bad reputation, if you get to know
them they are actually really nice people".

If you would like to sponsor Andrew please see him or Mr Wain in school or visit
