A thank you to the PFA & OBA

PFA contributions – Thank you!

The PFA and the Old Bordenian Association have kindly made it possible for the school to acquire a new minibus this year.   The OBA have provided an initial payment and the PFA have pledged to provide £3924 for each of the next four annual instalments.   Their contribution is acknowledged in the lettering on the side of the minibus, and the school is very grateful for their support. The minibus is in regular use for taking students to sports fixtures, conferences,  and various educational visits and the OBA’s and PFA’s generous contribution really enhances the extra-curricular opportunities for our students.

In addition, the PFA has provided £7000 for the refurbishment of the school gym.  Recent cleaning and repainting has seen it branded in Borden colours; the refurbishment will be completed in the summer holiday when improvements to the flooring will be undertaken.

Finally, the PFA has recently replaced a chest freezer in school ensuring that refreshments can be stored for school events including the barbecue at the Boot Fair.

For all these contributions, we are very grateful.

Mrs Laurel Townend

Deputy Headteacher

They did it!

Well done to school colleagues, Mike Chittenden, Martin Green and Matt Feeney at the finish line after completing the 48 mile cycle ride for The Pilgrim's Hospices on Sunday 4th May. This is one of the charities in our minds this year after the sad loss of Mr Vafeas in January. You can donate to their Just Giving page via www.justgiving.com/Mike-Chittenden4

Spring Walk 2014

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the recent Spring Walk led by Alan Smith. The walk

between The Ringlestone Inn and Wormshill Church was about 5 miles long and lasted over two hours.
